For the first time in my life have I seen a collective effort between traffic police and volunteers ensuring a smooth flow all the way from Shahrae-Faisal to Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Even before Ramazan, I had picked up the most scenic and serene route. It passes by three lanes blessed with lush green gardens, beautiful houses, no traffic and half way decent roads. The journey lasts for all of 7 minutes before I resurface on Shaheed Millat and madness. Still Asif Qureshi's day long presentation on the FMA platform on analyzing monetary variables as well as the outlook for Pakistan was nothing short of brilliant. There was a fair bit of doubt and our immediate circle of friends and well wishers thought we had a death wish.

3 and 3 quarter years later, coming back home has been a mixed experience. If you throw in a half way decent mass transit program, the city would look the way it looks on Sunday mornings and on days the combined opposition decides that its a good day to stay home and watch cricket.
